YES Leaders
YES Leaders is an advisory council of 15-20 middle school and high school students that help guide the direction of Youth Embracing Service, Inc.

YES Leaders are VIVs! That stands for Very Important Volunteers.

YES is a youth service organization created by youth and managed by youth with adult guidance. We couldn't do what we do without you!

YES Leaders generate cool, new ideas for community service and fundraising projects. They plan, execute, and manage these fun and important projects.

YES Leader Responsibilities
  • Leaders in Terre Haute: Attend bi-weekly meetings to chat about projects and brainstorm ideas for new projects. Attend other meetings as needed.
  • Leaders not in Terre Haute: Participate in meetings by phone when possible. We are working on setting up a teleconference line so everyone can participate in meetings!
  • Respond promptly to e-mails from other YES Leaders and volunteers. Check e-mails daily.
  • Be excited about volunteering and have a strong desire to help others.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage assigned YES projects leading other youth volunteers.
  • Help develop new service projects.
  • Help write and present grant applications.
  • Secure sponsors for service projects.
  • Participate in fundraising activities.
  • Gain valuable experience, life lessons, and have fun!
  • Important: Before applying, discuss the responsibilities with your parents and make sure they support your participating. If you can't drive yet, they'll need to get you to meetings and activities.

How to Become a YES Leader

Applications are now being accepted for YES Leaders. If you enjoy volunteering, possess leadership qualities, and want to make a difference....we want you on the YES team! Middle and High School students can serve as leaders until graduating from high school. Start building your resume now! Colleges and employers will be impressed by your experience.
